Read It Forward & Get Three Free Books: Breaking Out of Bedlam, Prima Donna, or True Confections

Posted By CitiesCheap on December 29, 2009

I’ll be honest in that I haven’t tried the Kindle yet. I’m not sure that I will. I love to curl up with a good book, and the Kindle doesn’t look very comfy. Plus, I don’t read books from beginning to end. After the first 20 pages or so, I skim & find out what happens to one of the characters. Then I go back & read for detail. That is, until I need to know what happens to someone else in the story. Yes, fellow ASJAers, I know—I’m likely one of your least favorite types of readers. But you love me anyway because I buy books. Unless I can get them free:

While supplies last, you can get one of three books for free when you Read It Forward:

  • Breaking Out of Bedlam by Leslie Larson
  • Prima Donna by Megan Chance
  • True Confections by Katharine Weber

If I were judging a book by its cover, I’d go with True Confections. Breaking Out of Bedlam has my attention based on its title alone. But its main character is even more intriguing—Cora Sledge is an 82-year-old widow who decides to write a tell-all journal when her children force her to move into an assisted living facility. She’s described as “outrageous, irreverent, and wickedly funny”—my favorite combination. I’m buying this one (available Jan. 12), even if it doesn’t arrive free.
