I’ve never tried a Coinstar machine. But as my spare change jar is full, I think I may cash in on this deal:

Through December 6, 2009, if you change $40 at participating Coinstar machines & opt for an eCertificate, you’ll get a $10 eCertificate for free. One catch: The bonus eCertificate is a mail-in rebate, so you’ll want to keep a copy of the originals & mark your calendar to make sure you receive your freebie. The eCertificates include brands like iTunes, Lowe’s, Amazon.com, & more.

What I’d love to know is how to determine which machines are participating. It’s a machine. It’s not as if you can call ahead & ask. The official rules indicate it’s valid at machines in the U.S., excluding Puerto Rico, and the participating locations link directs you to a Coinstar locater, so I suspect it’s all of them in the U.S.
