I think we’ll head out for this one—it’s the perfect beginning to a craft project with the kids:

On the first Saturday of the month, The Home Depot hosts a free kids workshop.

• On Saturday, Nov. 7, kids can build their own tile trivet.
• On Saturday, Dec. 5, kids can build their own wagon.

We stopped by in August to make the message center, and am I glad that we got that for free. The kids have all but destroyed the wood with “decorations.” The free kids workshops take place from 9:00 a.m.-noon, and the kids leave with their project, an orange apron & an achievement pin.
