I’ll admit that I don’t know many of the details of Amelia Earhart’s life. And I suspect that “Amelia,” like many movies, will take a few artistic liberties as it tells the story of her life & untimely death. But I still want to see it.

I want to see if even more now that I know I can watch “Amelia” for free. Fox Searchlight is offering free screenings in select cities (here’s a link to the sign-up page). You’ll need to check for the day & time of the screening near you, and fair warning: there aren’t a lot of them. There’s one offered in each of the metro areas listed (Atlanta’s is at AMC Parkway Point on October 22 at 7:30 p.m.), and the dates and times range. I clicked through a dozen cities on the list, and most took place on Oct. 20-22, 2009.
