I’ve got to give Bass Pro Shops credit: They sell cool stuff, which makes it easier to host fun & free family events for Halloween. Check out these events (while supplies last, natch):

• October 24 & 25, noon-4:00 p.m.: You can sample Dutch oven apple cobbler, roast marshmallows, or let the kids paint & decorate a craft pumpkin. Bonus: It’s also the weekend for Free Family Event Games & Activities (10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. on Saturday & noon-4:00 p.m. on Sunday). There’s face painting, a casting contest, a free make-and-take leather craft, & more.
• October 30, 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.: Get bonus Halloween candy when you bring the kids to trick-or-treat throughout the store or let your little spooks take part in the kids’ costume parade at 6:00 p.m.
• October 31, noon-4:00 p.m.: You can sample Dutch oven apple cobbler, roast marshmallows, or let the kids decorate a mask.
